On The Creation and the Creator by Deb

The cool night air drifted into the house after the hot July day. Sleep came quickly. A few hours later, I awoke to the smell of wood smoke. Alarmed, I quickly searched for fire. Nothing. “It must be forest fires,” I mused as I closed the windows down.

“Oh God, watch over us. Please rain down on the fires. Protect us as only You can. Blessings and safety on all who labor to put the fires out, in Jesus’ Name I pray.”  ♫ “What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer.”

Situations can be stressful, but the Lord isn’t worried.  He has created the heavens. He made the sun to rule by day and the moon to rule by night. He made the stars also (Genesis 1:16). Many stars are far bigger than our sun (a huge flaming ball of gases 93,000,000 miles away). The stars appear tiny because they are far, far, far, far away. The heavens above are vast, yet our God spoke them into existence in one day. ♫ “How great is our God” we sing. Indeed!

Lofty thoughts of Him brought comfort and much needed sleep swiftly, on that smoky night. Scripture encourages us that God is able to do “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Eph 3:20). We are invited to “cast all our cares upon Him; for He cares for us” (1 Peter 5:7). Prayer is simply words spoken from our heart to the Father who loves all of His creation. As believers, we get to use the name of Jesus to send our prayers. His Name carries His power.

In faith, we are inspired by the creation that we can see, to believe that our Creator can and will do great things. ♫ “He is perfect in all of His ways to us.” Our part is to ask according to His will, to believe, and to wait expectantly, nothing doubting.

We praise and worship our Almighty King. ♫ “Glory to God forever!”
